Last summer when I went into the City for an engagement session I had a little fun challenging myself to photograph from the backseat of my cab ride. The challenge came from being able to compose and focus quickly and do it in a moving vehicle. Being honest with myself, most of the images were nothing more than mediocre if best. But, as Ira Glass said, “… the most important possible thing you can do is do a lot of work. Do a huge volume of work … Because it’s only by going through a volume of work that you are actually going to catch up and close that gap. And the work you’re making will be as good as your ambitions.”

Going through the images from that summer cab ride is, to me, a simple reminder to do more work.
