This month I am getting to some way behind blogging. I’ve had some life events happen the past couple of years that have made me quite the blogging slacker – one of which was having my beautiful baby this last July. So if this little man of mine takes some stellar naps I hope to blog my butt off, a little March Maddness if you will, and share with you some pretty weddings and even some personal posts.
Up on the blogging block is Moira + Eric’s unbelievably rad 1960’s themed wedding, which I had the pleasure of second shooting for Katie Slater (who at the time was with Carla Ten Eyck). Channeling Mad Men this wedding had it all from the details to the entertainment, to the attire – even all the guests came paying homage to Don + Betty Draper.
Getting ready, the first look, ceremony and reception all took place at Tyrone Farms, now a personal wedding venue favorite. A beautiful property with cottages for the girls and guys to get ready, gorgeous views and fields, and a barn (who doesn’t love a good ol’ barn?) for the reception. The wedding was catered by Caseus, a restaurant in New Haven that specializes in cheese. Side note: if you’re into cheese and ever in the area I highly recommend going or at least hunting down their food truck. Speaking of food truck, that heaven on wheels arrived at the end of their wedding and passed out the most delicious little pieces of grilled cheese sandwiches and cups of tomato soup. Even though dairy does me dirty I partook of the food awesomeness and salivate thinking of it now.
This wedding wasn’t the norm, but I love getting the opportunity to shoot something different from time to time. Preparing this blog post reminded me how much fun it was. Enjoy my faves from the day.
